Founded in 1972, the sole proprietorship Heng Lee Manufacturing was originated by Mr Ng Wak Heng in native Singapore; In its pioneering days, the company dealt primarily with the manufacturing of handbags and ladies belt.
In 1975 the brand Hilly was acquired in France, following the subsequent successes of the brand, the company acquired italian machineries; becoming the first to utilize such equipment in Singapore. Between 1982 and1999, Hilly Singapore Pte Ltd set forth her ventures overseas in neighboring Asia countries which include Malaysia, Japan, Australia, and China.
